Cover Story

One Dynamic Duo

Sitting side-by-side in the midday sunlight at Florida's South Lakeland Airport, the two hangar mates don't shout their similarities upon a most casual observance. The Escapade, winner of the 2004 Grand Champion Light Plane award at Sun 'n Flun, sits on a nosewheel, while the Highlander, 2005's Grand Champ, drags a tailwheel. The airplanes' tails differ slightly, as does their selection of powerplant.
