It looks familiar, but…

Sure, you all know what this is… right? At first glance, it looks like an RV-4–but what’s with the retractable landing gear? All that means is that the spirit of experimenting is alive and well, for yes, it is a retractable RV! Word is that this one might be for sale.

We didn’t chase down the owner to ask about the interesting cowling (or the gear for that matter), but it’s well known that a number of retractable RV-4s have been built over the years. We’d love to fly formation with it, just to take a few pictures. It has a certain Mustang look, don’t you think?
