As RANS says in its short description of N11632, one of three airplanes featured at the company’s booth, it is not the shiniest or newest among the many airplanes on the field today. Instead, we elected to display a plane that has been in our demo fleet for a number of years, 10 to be exact. RANS estimates that 632 has flown more than 3000 demo flights for more than 6000 prospective customers. It was used in obtaining a Primary Category Type Certificate, was the forerunner of the firms S-7LS Light Sport and S-7S kitbuilt designs. Thats a lot of pilots taken for a ride, and should offer some indication of the effort required to be one of the most successful kit companies in the business.
