DAR Corporation Offers FAR 23 Loads Software

0

DAR Corporation is offering a program called FAR 23 Loads that provides a procedure to calculate the loads on an airplane according to FAA airworthiness standards. The loads are determined by the three-view drawing, the maximum takeoff weight, and the chosen category and load factor. The software provides the means to calculate and print a loads report, including compressibility and altitude effects, for FAA Type Certification. However, the loads on homebuilt Experimental airplanes or ultralights should also be calculated for flight safety. Weight may be reduced with stress analysis or testing only after calculating accurate loads.

The program, copyrighted by McGettrick Structural Engineering, Inc., but to which DAR has worldwide distribution rights, is $495 for an individual version, $1795 for the commercial version. Educational discounts are available. It runs on a PC, but a Mac version may become available.
