Dewey started flying model planes at age 7 and has been flying full-scale aircraft for over 30 years. He currently holds an ATP license with seven different type ratings and has logged over 12,000 flight hours. Today, Dewey is a corporate pilot flying a Citation Latitude. He is also the owner of Goodfolk and O’Tymes Biplane Rides, where he operates a 1929 Travel Air 4000 and a 1930 D-25 New Standard biplane.

The most difficult compromises live in the middle of the performance envelope, while the easiest decisions are found at each end of the spectrum. This VW installation emphasizes economy over performance, so a prop gearbox would be an obvious complication.
