Wherever I have gone on the AirVenture grounds this year, I have received compliments on the coverage that Kitplanes has been providing on the show – and the experimental community in general. I’m glad to hear that people like what we’re doing, and I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know – the coverage you see is from a team of individuals – builders, designers, pilots – who take time form their busy lives to contribute to Kitplanes in print and on the web. Kitplanes is a wonderful community itself – the very small staff organizes and takes care of the logistics of producing the magazine, but the content comes from our many contributors (some regulars, some who submit now and again), most of whom are passionate enough about experimental aviation to spend a week in Wisconsin to help collect story ideas and spread the word about this wonderful obsession called homebuilding.
As AirVenture heads quickly towards it inevitable close for the year, I want to thank each and everyone one of our contributors – those pictured here, and the rest spread around the globe – for their efforts at the show and throughout the year. Kitplanes is only as good as its team – and I am proud to be a member along with them. We know that there are thousands of great stories out there that we have not yet found, not yet covered – so many great tales, and so few pages! Just remember that you don’t have to wait for a person with Kitplanes shirt to come write your story – our best work comes from our readers.
