I recommend using a “transfer punch” to accurately mark the rivet holes without damaging the rivet-fan.
HOWEVER, I WAS DISTRACTED BY THE CHUCK KEY IN THE LATHE BEHIND YOU.
NEVER TAKE YOUR HAND OFF OF THE CHUCK KEY WHEN IT IS STUCK INTO THE CHUCK !!
A CHUCK KEY LEFT IN THE CHUCK IS AN ACCIDEDNT READY TO HAPPEN.
