A surprise appearance of a real “Rosie the Riveter” highlighted the day at the One Week Wonder today. “Rosie”, reported to be 94 years old, arrived in costume complete with red bandana, was accompanied by her daughter and pulled a rivet on the RV-12iS wing.
The event was apparently spontaneous and we haven’t found anyone with a photograph but we’d love to see one! (The build team was too focused on their work and this KITPLANES “embedded reporter” wasn’t present at the time.)
UPDATE 8/3/2018: We hear from John L. Brecher who said: “I was working teaching folks how to pull a rivet. I had the privilege of showing her how to do it!” and he sent us this photo:
