Van’s Aircraft has announced that active kit production for the RV-3, RV-4, and RV-6 will come to an end on September 30, 2025.
These iconic designs—the earliest in the Van’s Aircraft lineup—helped shape the company’s legacy of Total Performance and introduced thousands of builders to the RV community. But as demand for these models has steadily declined, and as Van’s shifts resources toward newer designs and streamlined operations, the time has come to sunset kit production for these aircraft.
- Last Day to Order Kits: September 30, 2025
- What’s Ending: Empennage, fuselage, wing, and finish kits for the RV-3, RV-4, and RV-6
- What’s Continuing: Support, including replacement parts and technical assistance
Van’s emphasizes that while kit production is ending, support for existing builders and owners will remain a priority. The RV-3, RV-4, and RV-6 will always hold a special place in Van’s history and continue to represent the spirit of homebuilding.
