New Air Conditioner Unit for Homebuilts

0

Air Management Technology, Inc., has introduced FlyCool: an ultra-lightweight, all-electric, vapor-cycle air conditioning system developed for the LSA and Experimental market.

The R-134a vapor-cycle system includes a maintenance-free, hermetically sealed, brushless DC motor/compressor assembly, circuit-protected relay junction box, lightweight condenser/fan assembly and a compact evaporator/fan unit. The components are modular to accommodate installation in small envelopes.

The 28-VDC system can run from a 40-amp alternator or a GPU. This power system is an independent upgrade from the standard 12-VDC aircraft system. When ground pre-cooling, the system provides a 20° F cabin temperature drop in less than 10 minutes.

The evaporator fan speed is fully adjustable. AC mode provides cooling, while FAN mode can be used to recirculate air on cooler days. Each component is protected by a circuit breaker. The evaporator is protected by a freeze switch. The refrigerant plumbing is protected by a hi-lo pressure switch which de-energizes the compressor.

The kit is supplied with main components, hose with fittings, mating electrical connectors, outline drawings, flight manual and wiring schematic. Air Management Technology, Inc., can assist with ducting (not included).

An informational data kit is available for prospective buyers. The price of the informational data package is discounted from the kit cost (about $5000), if an order is made within six months.
