If it’s Tuesday night at AirVenture, it must be the Van’s Aircraft Banquet night. A couple hundred RV builders, owners, vendors, and wannabes gathered at the Nature Center Pavilion for the annual celebration of all things RV.
Van’s sent a very large crew this year to support the One Week Wonder build in addition to the usual sales tent and demonstration rides so it was a chance to meet and talk with technical support, shipping, transition training, engineering, and prototype shop folks. The evening included a very nice meal with both chicken and filet mignon, a welcome message from Dick VanGrunsven, introductions of notable players in the RV world, door prizes, a talk by Nigel Speedy on Phase One Flight Testing for RVs, and lots of camaraderie.
