The project began in December of 2019 with airworthiness provided in November 2024. This Highlander is propelled by a Yamaha Apex engine and suspended on TK1 Racing Shock Monster gear legs and shocks. A GRT EFIS informs me of my whereabouts, while the uAvionix TailBeaconX informs big brother. Need-to-know people receive comms from a Garmin GTR 200. The assembly, fabric, electrical, and paint were all completed by yours truly in a two-car garage. The craft is fulfilling the intended mission of transporting me on Montana backcountry fishing and hunting adventures. With tongue-in-cheek I named it “Brushcutter”, though, hope it never lives up to the definition.
