Dan’s World
Columnist Dan Checkoway appreciates the flexibility of owning a homebuilt rather than a certified aircraft. “Booger weld”…
I would grind it down and break the plate off and reweld with a new bead. That looks like spot gas welding with a coat hanger. I would accept a brazing job on that but a good weld is preferred
Must have held the welding rod in his nostrils and the welder between his toes. Nice!
Its Mig welded very cold
I cannot believe that even the most inexperienced builder could not recognise a dangerous weld when they see one.
Here a weld like that is known as “Spoggy Shit” (Spoggy – a small Australian bird)
I agree with Bruce. Grind it all off and get an experienced welder to reweld it.
Grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t….. lucky they didn’t try to ‘pretty up’ this mess with Bondo
My daddy says if you gotta grind every weld to make it look right., your not a welder your a grinder😂
