Bad Weld

Unairworthy.

Sometimes welding should be left to those more skilled in its practice. I don’t think I would trust this repair that was made to the rudder pedal bars in an RV.

  1. I would grind it down and break the plate off and reweld with a new bead. That looks like spot gas welding with a coat hanger. I would accept a brazing job on that but a good weld is preferred

  2. I cannot believe that even the most inexperienced builder could not recognise a dangerous weld when they see one.
    Here a weld like that is known as “Spoggy Shit” (Spoggy – a small Australian bird)

    I agree with Bruce. Grind it all off and get an experienced welder to reweld it.
