It seems less crowded here at Oshkosh this year, particularly around the Homebuilt Pavilion. Homebuilt parking has been relatively open, and there appear to be fewer tents overall. In fact, the numbers confirm that homebuilt participation is down about 15% compared to last year.
Each evening, the Homebuilt Parking and Camping staff count the aircraft in those two areas and post the totals on a whiteboard at their headquarters. The first column is the date, the second is the number of planes in Homebuilt Parking, the third is the number in Homebuilt Camping, the fourth is the total of the two areas, and the final column shows the combined numbers from the same day last year.
