After 3 years and 800 hours, N553BD made its inaugural flight. The Lycoming O-235-powered aircraft flew hands-off and climbs like a homesick angel. This was my first build with my first engine overhaul and first aircraft paint job. Taking your time and ensuring things are done correctly pay off down the line. First flight was from my 1000’ grass strip and it handled great, like a “Sky Jeep” should.
