ELT Problems



FAR 91.207 explains the requirements for ELT batteries and operational checks. In this case, discovered in 2022, the battery was replaced in 2014 and expired in 2018. No logbook entries were noted. Expired batteries also have the potential to leak and cause severe corrosion as seen here.
