Rotor X Acquires RotorWay International

Rotor X Aircraft Manufacturing Company acquired the RotorWay International factory in Chandler, Arizona, and hired key RotorWay personnel. Rotor X is now offering new helicopter kits for improved and more affordable 2-seat helicopters.

Using the existing former RotorWay A600 Talon Turbo helicopter as a baseline, Rotor X is offering the new Rotor X Phoenix AX600 Turbo. The Phoenix AX600 Turbo is priced under $100,000.

Buyers placing an order before February 12, 2021 can take advantage of the introductory sale price of $88,650 for complete kits.

Rotor X Phoenix AX600 Turbo Specifications:

  • Gross weight: 1630 lb
  • Payload: 545 lb
  • Endurance: 2 hours
  • Service ceiling: 11,500 ft
  • Maximum speed: 120 mph
  • Cruise speed: 100 mph

Rotor X plans to provide flight training as soon as May 2021.

Kits sell for 50% down, with the 4 kit stages delivered in 90-day intervals—providing the builder time to get the kit done within a year while working on the weekends.

  1. Do they still make the scorpion 1 seater. I use to like that wanted to build it but was to young at time. Quit older now. But still would like to build some. Or about like it. At least a 115 mile range.

  2. They still make the scorpion? Be would like a catalog or flyer kits info. Gerry Pope 730 Decatur St. Kenton, Ohio, 43326. Some day hope to move near there so can learn to fly one. Maybe once do train others. Is a dream of mine. Just sounds like fun.
